lighting up blue

April is autism awareness month and today is a special day for us too. It's Autism Awareness Day and a day where the world lights up blue to help spred awareness for Autism.

In case you didn't know, our oldest was diagnosed with Autism almost two years ago(you can read more about his story here). Since then April has become a big day for us to help spred awareness and do our part to help light up the world blue.

We started off our morning wearing our blue shirts.

All ready to wear blue!

We also decided to make cookies to send to daddy's work. They were definitely amazingly delicious and we may have sampled just a few before we actually delivered them. And if your curious as to why they use a puzzle piece to represent autism it's because it represents the complexity and mystery of autism.-Autism is mysterious because nobody knows what causes autism or why the instances of autism seem to be increasing.

We also decided to color our driveway and change the outdoor lights blue. It may not be a whole lot but it's a big start for us. We are so thankful for the amazing help and aid we have received to help Fisher grow and blossom. Without organizations like AutismSpeaks and the small groups who try to help families and kids on the spectrum I don't know where our Fisher would be right now. He is an amazing and bright little boy who lights up our life daily. We are so blessed to have him and we are going to keep fighting for him!

Hope your monday is a wonderful monday!
